Malibu partners with music artist Kygo

As part of its #BecauseSummer campaign Malibu has partnered with music artist Kygo and developed a new ‘Coco-nect’ cup that communicates with bar staff to re-order drinks.

Malibu features in the video for Kygo’s new single ‘Carry me’

Kygo will be teaming up with Malibu at music events and venues around the world as well as featuring the brand in the music video for his new single ‘Carry me’.

Colin Kavanagh, Malibu global VP for marketing, said: “Kygo’s videos and performances reflect those moments when you feel you can do what you really want to, just because it’s summer.

“Kygo is phenomenally popular with our global audience of young fun starters and is a huge draw as a headliner at music festivals. We couldn’t be happier that Malibu is able to support him.

“Kygo embodies everything that our Because Summer campaign is about and is a brilliant fit for Malibu. We’re so looking forward to working with him over the next year and in particular next summer.”

Malibu have also developed a new ‘Coco-nect’ cup that will bring club and festival goers’ drinks directly to them.

Using WiFi and RFID technology, the ‘Coco-nect’ cups send signals to bar staff every time a fresh drink is required.

All customers have to do to place their order is twist the base of the coconut-shaped vessel and the drink will be prepared and delivered straight to them.

The Malibu Coco-nect cup is set to launch in clubs, bars and festivals in summer 2017.
