Crown Royal launches vanilla-flavoured whisky
Diageo-owned Canadian whisky brand Crown Royal has extended its portfolio with the launch of a vanilla-flavoured expression.
Crown Royal has moved into the vanilla-flavoured whisky category
Crown Royal Vanilla (35% abv), which has been infused with Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla, is now available nationwide across the US at an RRP of US$24.99.
Its launch will be supported by an integrated marketing campaign featuring the tagline ‘Vanilla So Good’, with television commercials and digital shorts featuring actor, comedian and director J.B. Smoove.
“Infusing our superior Crown Royal whiskies with the flavour of Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla allows us to amplify the naturally-occurring vanilla notes found in our whisky and share a delicious new offering with our drinkers,” said Jim Ruane, Crown Royal brand director.
Crown Royal Vanilla follows the successful 2014 launch of Crown Royal Regal Apple, a blend of Crown Royal whiskies with Regal Gala apples.
The bottling was described by brand owner Diageo as a the “biggest driver” of increased shipments to the US in 2015, bolstering the performance of the entire North America market.
