The Spirit Show reels in exhibitors
By Kristiane SherryThe UK’s first dedicated spirit show is on course to be a “huge success”, with more than 50% of the exhibitor target already signed up to participate in The Spirit Show, organisers say.
The Spirit Show will take place in London this DecemberSet to take place at London’s Business Design Centre, Islington, from 9-10 December, the consumer event will be hosted by Joel Harrison and Neil Ridley.
Organisers are expecting an audience of more than 10,000 visitors, which will focus on whisky, gin, vodka and rum brands, as well as Champagnes, wines and fine food.
Participants will be able to taste the range of spirits on show, and enjoy a meal at the Street Food Village, where a range of foods will be on offer. Tickets start from 2 for £70 in the early bird offer.
“We are absolutely delighted with progress so far,” said show director, Geraldine Reeve. “We have some great names signed up as exhibitors and partners including The London Cocktail Club, Deliveroo, Bar Chick, The Floating Rum Shack and Difford’s Guide.
“Joel and Neil will host a series of master classes across the two days including Five Spirits You May Have Heard of but Never Tried, Blend Your Own Gin, World Whiskies Master class and Vodkas from Across the World.
“We are ahead of targets for exhibitors and have both big names such as Fentimans and Berry Bros & Rudd alongside intriguing, unusual brands who will be new to most of our visitors.
“The Spirit Show is genuinely something new and something different. We think is going to be one of the best days out in London, a great way to kick off the Christmas season, stock up your festive drinks cabinet and buy Christmas gifts for your loved ones.”
More than £200 million was spent in the UK on spirits in the first two weeks of December, the event organisers say. The Spirit Show will allow premium brands a “perfectly timed opportunity” to showcase their wares in the run-up to the festive season.
