Jim Beam Apple Watch puts whiskey on your wrist
By Annie HayesJim Beam has unveiled its very own Apple Watch – a “drinkable, wearable” accessory that allows the wearer to carry a shot glass on their wrist.
Jim Beam has created its very own Apple WatchAs Apple unveiled its latest raft of new phones and watches yesterday, the brand countered the tech hype with the announcement of its very own Apple Watch – inspired by its Jim Beam Apple variant, released last year.
While the so-called watch doesn’t actually tell the time, Jim Beam hopes the entertaining marketing stunt will encourage the wearer to “connect with friends over refreshing shots rather than refreshed newsfeeds”.
“Critics may ask, ‘What good is a watch that can’t tell time?’” said Fred Noe, Jim Beam’s 7th generation master distiller.
“We actually think we’ve created a watch that helps you make time. Who doesn’t want to make time for friends, family and a refreshing Jim Beam Apple shot or cocktail?”
According to the brand, the “streamlined” interface of the watch “opens and closes manually on demand” to reveal a pop-up shot glass.
Priced the same as the RRP of a 750mL bottle of Jim Beam Apple, the Jim Beam Apple Watch is priced at US$17.99.
