TFWA adds sailing to Cannes social calendarBy Kristiane Sherry
The Tax Free World Association has confirmed its social programme in the run-up to the annual World Exhibition & Conference, with a sailing regatta added to the schedule.
Events kick off on Sunday 2 October with the regatta, sponsored by fashion brand, Paul & Shark.
The team competition will see participants attempt to sail the Bay of Cannes on board professionally skippered dinghies.
Another new event for the diary is a yoga class, also on the Sunday morning. Sponsored by skincare supplier Rituals, the class will take place overlooking the ocean and is billed as a great way to “refresh the mind, body and spirit” ahead of the show.
Both the golf tournament, organised by retailer Gebr. Heinemann and beauty house Estée Lauder, and the pétanque competition, sponsored by confectioner Haribo, will make a return for 2016.
The charity run is also back on the agenda, with delegates taking to the pavements of La Croisette to raise money for TFWA Care.
“People like doing business with people they like,” says TFWA vice president, marketing Carla Guiducci. “The TFWA World Exhibition & Conference will provide plenty of occasions to strengthen the business relationships that are the bedrock of long-term prosperity.”
The TFWA World Exhibition & Conference will take place at the Palais des Festivals, Cannes, from 2-7 October 2016.
