Pernod Ricard sets sail with interactive store

Pernod Ricard Travel Retail EMEA has partnered with Harding Retail to launch the first interactive liquor retail space aboard the Cunard Queen Mary II cruise liner.

The store will offer premium spirits across all categories with the aim of creating a personalised experience while engaging and educating consumers.

A large range of Pernod Ricard brands – including Royal Salute, Ballantine’s, Chivas and Martell – will be available in the store, and can be collected upon docking at the final destination.

Themed wall bays are dedicated to specific spirits, while the Cocktail Time wall offers chosen cocktail ingredients and the Celebration wall stocks a range of Champagnes.

Dedicated Cognac and Scotch wall bays feature interactive screens for each brand, detailing brand history, products, promotions and competitions.

In addition, an in-store liquor tasting bar gives consumers the chance to sample and learn more about each brand.

“It has been a pleasure to work with Pernod Ricard Travel Retail in creating the first premium, interactive liquor shop on board the Queen Mary II,” said Brooke Macpherson, buyer – duty free division, Harding Retail.

“We are particularly excited to engage and educate passengers in an interactive environment with the tasting bar and TV screens.”

Earlier this year, Diageo’s Johnnie Walker House concept store made its cruise debut on board Asian cruise ship Genting Dream.
