Tales on Tour heads to Edinburgh

The organisers of Tales of the Cocktail have selected the Scottish city of Edinburgh as the seventh host city for the Tales of the Cocktail on Tour spin-off.

Tales of the Cocktail on Tour is set to head to Edinburgh in 2017

The three-day festival will take place from April 2-4 2017 and follow a similar but smaller format to the New Orleans flagship event.

By day, delegates can enjoy a series of seminars from bartenders and cocktail experts, while the evenings are given over to social events.

The Tales of the Cocktail on Tour concept was developed in 2011 in recognition that attending the New Orleans event every year can be difficult. It was also introduced to celebrate the culture of cocktail destinations that don’t always receive the attention they deserve, say the organisers.

“Edinburgh’s cocktail scene obviously starts with the history and tradition of Scotch whisky but it’s so much bigger than that,” said Ann Tuennerman, Tales of the Cocktail founder.

“It’s a city that’s on par with the best in the world. I’m so excited for everyone to get to know it even better next spring.”

Brand partners William Grant & Sons, Pernod Ricard and Bacardi will again join Tales of the Cocktail on tour. The three have been involved from the start and provide talent, resources and knowledge of the local bar scene to the event’s organisation.

Stuart McCluskey, owner of The Bon Vivant and The Devil’s Advocate in Edinburgh, commented: “Having been to Tales of the Cocktail on a number of occasions and experienced first-hand the amazing wealth of industry expertise all in one special city for a week, I’m so excited that Tales on Tour will be coming to Edinburgh, my town!

“The Tales organisation gathers some of the very best of the hospitality industry together to unselfishly share their knowledge and wisdom with very keen listeners.”

Tales of the Cocktail was founded in 2002 and has grown from a small gathering to the world’s biggest cocktail festival.
