Regal Rogue seeks investment to ‘tackle gin’

Vermouth brand Regal Rose is seeking investment to increase production and develop targeted marketing initiatives as it looks to “tackle gin” in the UK and its native Australian markets.

The brand was developed as a “passion project” in 2009, and officially launched in Australia in early 2012, says founder Mark Ward. “In that time, we’ve received multiple awards for the incredible packaging design and liquid, and we’re now seeing the on- and off-trade in both markets come back to the brand as a drinking style. The category is evolving supporting our position to be ‘The world’s drinking vermouth’ enjoyed as an alternative between wine and gin and tonic.”

Ward is now looking for investors to come on board in order to generate working capital for operations including imminent bottling and communication campaigns.

“I am receptive to pure investment or investment partnerships to see Regal Rogue truly achieve its global potential and we know we are only just scratching the surface with the brand to date,” Ward continued.

According to Ward, the business is easily and quickly scalable and minimal cost, and has projected profits circa £3 million by 2020 providing substantial upside. Investment opportunities are likely to qualify for the UK’s Enterprise Investment Scheme, he adds.

Regal Rogue is currently listed in the UK in the on-premise in Coq Argent, Hush, Soho House Group and Granger & Co. In the off-premise it is listed in Nicolas, Spirited Wine and is said to be the top vermouth/aperitif brand in Selfridges.

In Australia Regal Rogue is the exclusive resort aperitif at the One & Only, and is also available at The Hubert, and Solotel Group. The brand is also set to be featured at Banksii restaurant, Sydney’s first vermouth-focused venue.

Last summer, Regal Rogue added two new flavours to its portfolio: Daring Dry and Wild Rosé.
