Entries open for Beefeater MIXLDN 6

Beefeater has launched its sixth annual cocktail competition, this year challenging contestants to create a new serve inspired by an iconic London film for the chance to craft their own gin.

The winner of Beefeater MIXLDN 6 will create their own Beefeater gin

The brand is calling for bartenders to find inspiration in films both past and present that have taken place in London and create an inventive cocktail using either Beefeater London Dry or Beefeater 24.

The winner will be crowned Beefeater MIXLDN Global Champion and receive the opportunity to create their own Beefeater gin, overseen by master distiller Desmond Payne.

After submitting a cocktail recipe concept and its inspiration to the Beefeater MIXLDN website, a selection of bartenders will be invited to a national final – running around the world from July until December 2016 – to demonstrate their concept to both local and international gin experts, including Beefeater global brand ambassadors, Tim Stones and Sebastian Hamilton-Mudge.

The bartender from each participating market that showcases “the most inventive and skilful mixology” will be asked to represent their countries at the Global Finals in London in February 2017.

While in the city, finalists will enjoy exclusive experiences, access to some of London’s most iconic institutions and time with renowned leaders from inside and outside the bar industry

Eric Sampers, Beefeater global brand director, said: “We’re delighted to announce the launch of Beefeater MIXLDN 6, a truly exciting event that year on year showcases why Beefeater and mixology go hand in hand.

“Our home in London is a constant source of inspiration; this year is set to reveal cocktails that are as iconic and exciting as the films behind them. As the world’s largest gin cocktail competition, we are confident that the calibre of entrants will be second to none – we cannot wait to celebrate the skills and flare of the world’s most creative bartenders.”
