In Russia, the distillery has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Simple Group for The Irishman super-premium whiskey.

Meanwhile in the US, the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board has agreed to list the distillery’s Writers Tears Irish whiskey expression.

Writers Tears is also available in New York, Minnesota, District of Columbia, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania.

“It is very encouraging to be strengthening the reach of our brands in key markets like Russia and the United States, especially as our distillery is now in production and we gear for both strong production and sales growth in the years ahead,” commented Bernard Walsh, founder and chief executive of Walsh Whiskey Distillery.

Earlier this month, Walsh Whiskey Distillery started production at its new €25 million site in Royal Oak, County Carlow, and will host an official opening ceremony in June 2016.
