Shaken helps subscriber pop the question

Romance is in the air after monthly mail order cocktail brand Shaken helped a loved-up subscriber propose to his girlfriend.

Shaken subscriber Sam contacted the brand to ask if they would create a personalised cocktail box for him and his girlfriend Katie, who are longtime members of the cocktail subscription service.

He modified a Shaken box to incorporate an engagement ring, featuring specially-designed recipe cards to reflect cocktails relevant to the couple, and took the box on holiday to New York.

Sam said: “After a lot of stress hiding the special Shaken box in our shared bag and then worrying that US Customs would pick our bag to be searched, the kit made it to NYC with us.”

At first Katie didn’t even realise the kit had been personalised – but soon said ‘yes’.

Katie said: “Sam pretended that he had found the Shaken box in Wholefoods, and I was so excited that it was available in the US that I didn’t actually notice the ring!

“It was such a great surprise. We love our Shaken kits, and their help with Sam’s special request shows just what a wonderful company it is.”
