ForwardKeys and JMG team up for TR division

Travel intelligence analyst ForwardKeys and travel retail research firm JMG-Research have partnered to develop a new division under ForwardKeys to serve the travel retail industry.

JMG-Research’s Jérôme Goldberg has set up an alliance with ForwardKeys to develop a travel retail division

The alliance was developed to meet industry need for live international passenger traffic information by nationality.

Data offered will include real-time booking and destination information for domestic, international and transit routes around the world, including an exclusive agreement in China.

Spain-based ForwardKeys already has a presence in duty free and travel retail, but the new partnership is expected to “put more emphasis in this vertical”.

“Evidence based decision making is becoming a requirement in business practices in the travel industry and peripheral businesses – there is a need for live, actionable, tactical, reliable, and forward looking information on traveller trends,” said Olivier Jager, Founder of ForwardKeys.

“Our solutions start by answering some very fundamental questions: What is the potential of the market? What will travel demand be in the coming months, and for each destination around the globe? What are the events that are triggering that demand?”

Jérôme Goldberg, founder of JMG-Research, added: “It was very frustrating until now to have to wait for several months to end up with information too old to be really actionable and too static to be used as forecast.

“Thanks to this new Business Intelligence tool, we can not only provide our clients with a real-time pulse of the market, tracking the key destinations for each nationality, but also allow them to built tactical actions to reach the right consumer group as they know in advance the true traveling patterns.”

“It is a perfect match with our existing focus on the Global Shopper Behaviours, and in the future we will combine these two dimensions.”

Goldberg has joined ForwardKeys, where he holds the position of director of business development – global retail and travel retail. He remains Managing Director of JMG-Research.
