Distell appoints global single malts ambassador

Distell has named Angus Upton as global brand ambassador for its single malts portfolio.

In his new role, Upton will represent Distell globally for its single malts portfolio, which includes Bunnahabhain, Deanston, Ledaig and Tobermory.

“Joining such an established whisky producer has been a long-term ambition of mine and I’m honoured to join the team,” said Upton.

“From the exquisite peated Ledaig to the honeyed richness of Deanston, each of the malts are unique and I’m really looking forward to working with them and sharing my love of quality single malts with consumers the world over.”

Upton joins the drinks producer from The Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS), where he was one of the youngest members of the SMWS tasting panel, and offered personalised tastings for high-value clients.

He also worked in the Royal Lochnagar Distillery and provided consultant and tasting services to independent bottlers.
