Twitter campaign seeks ‘most loved’ craft spirits

A new Twitter campaign is endeavouring to find the UK’s “most loved” independent spirit brands using the hashtag #HotCraftSpirits.

A new Twitter campaign wants to find the UK’s most loved independent spirits producer

Consumers, producers and distillers are all encouraged to vote for their favourite independent spirit brands, with votes displayed on a Twitter powered leader board on the campaign’s website –

The campaign is the brainchild of social media agency Clarity Comms and in order to vote, users must Tweet the brand’s Twitter handle accompanied by the hashtag #HotCraftSpirits.

Voting will remain open until the middle of May 2016 when the company with the greatest number of votes will be named the UK’s Hottest Craft Spirit.

“The last few years [have] seen a huge increase [in] new spirits entering the market from local, small batch gins and single-estate vodkas to eaux-de-vie and flavoured whiskies,” commented Jason Navon, Clarity Comms co-founder. “But it can be a struggle for some of these brands to get their voices heard.

“Much of the demand for these drinks is driven by millennials who find and share their discoveries via social media.

“Take a look at the craft beer industry – lots of breweries creating great tasting products and using the likes of Twitter and Instagram to reach a wide and varied audience.

“We wanted to create a platform to help celebrate the vibrancy of the sector by getting drinkers to vote for their favourite craft spirits. And so #HotCraftSpirits was born.”
