Cognac Frapin unveils new decanter design

Cognac house Frapin has given its Cognac range a design makeover and will unveil the first new decanter at ProWein.

Cognac Frapin VIP XO will be unveiled at ProWein in Düsseldorf, Germany

Beginning with the brand’s VIP XO expression, Frapin hopes the new look will “rejuvenate” the Cognac collection.

The inspiration descended from the Cognac brand’s ancestor author and food connoisseur François Rabelais’ “love for the written word”, and has been portrayed through the perfume bottle and inkpot shape.

VIP XO is described as having floral notes on the nose with a “beautiful aromatic complexity”, which is combined with “subtle woody touches”.

On the palate the Cognac is said to have chocolate notes, dried fruit, candied fruit and gingerbread.

Cognac Frapin owns one of the largest estates in the Grand Champagne region of Cognac, where it grows all its own grape vines, as well as running its own distillery and ageing cellars, thus retaining “complete control” over its Cognac production.

Frapin VIP XO’s new bottle design will officially launch in April with an RRP of £180 per 700ml bottle.
