Bacardi GTR shuffles Asia team
Bacardi Global Travel Retail (GTR) has appointed Vinay Golikeri as regional director Asia Pacific, as Irving Holmes Wong moves into the domestic China MD role.
Bacardi GTR has appointed Vinay Golikeri as Bacardi GTR regional director
Golikeri joined the Bacardi GTR team in 2011 as marketing director, and has since led the company’s strategic drive to premiumise the portfolio.
In his new role, Golikeri will be based in Hong Kong, reporting to Mike Birch, Bacardi GTR managing director.
He brings with him experience in understanding regional dynamics both from his earlier domestic market career with Bacardi, and with other brands.
Irving Holmes Wong moves to a new role as Bacardi Greater China managing director, based in Shanghai. While it is a domestic position, he will continue to work closely with Golikeri on synergies within the GTR business in his region.
Leila Stansfield will replace Golikeri as Bacardi GTR customer marketing director. She joined the GTR team as finance director in 2014, previously working with Bacardi as director, corporate strategy.
Stansfield gained considerable shopper marketing experience during her earlier career at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a retail and consumer specialist.
“Bacardi prides itself on developing its internal talent pool and I am especially pleased to have the expertise of Vinay and Leila in their new roles,” Birch commented.
“Global Travel Retail is a strategic shop window for the Bacardi group with strong support from our CEO Mike Dolan, and I am delighted that we have his personal support and continued investment in helping us deliver our ambitions in the sector.”
The Bacardi GTR Asia team has delivered a number of experiential customer activations in recent months, including a “footfall-driving shopper experience” at Auckland airport with ARI.
