Aberdeenshire single malt Scotch whisky anCnoc has extended its range of vintage expressions with the launch of a 2001 Vintage.

anCnoc has released a limited edition 2001 Vintage whisky

Matured for more than 15 years in Spanish and American oak casks, just 1,000 cases of anCnoc 2001 Vintage are available around the world.

The expression has been distilled at the Highland Knockdhu distillery and aged in traditional dunnage warehouses. It has been bottled without chill filtration or caramel colouring.

“Like all anCnoc bottlings, fans will be able to detect the unmistakable Knockdhu style in every drop of this spirit, but in particular it’s the complex depth of flavour of the 2001 that we’re really proud of,” said Stephanie Allison, anCnoc brand manager. “We’re sure it will be a hit with even the most discerning whisky drinker.”

anCnoc 2001 Vintage is said to have an aroma of freshly squeezed lemons, blood oranges, vanilla, ground spice, and leather, and a flavour of honey, vanilla and chocolate.

Bottled at 46% abv, the whisky is now available from independent and specialist whisky retailers at an RRP of £55.

Earlier this year, anCnoc a limited edition bottle design created in collaboration with fashion designer Patrick Grant.
