Loch Lomond releases ‘historical’ Littlemill in US
Loch Lomond has released Littlemill Private Cellar Edition in the US – a 25-year-old single malt Scotch whisky created from casks salvaged from the lost distillery.

The distillery, which was established almost 250 years ago and rumoured to be amongst the oldest in Scotland, was destroyed by fire in 2004 – however casks from the Littlemill warehouse remained safe.
After being dipped and nosed by master blenders, ten casks were chosen, determined to be the “best representation” of the style of whisky formerly produced by the distillery.
The casks were married together and finished in first-fill Oloroso Sherry casks to create a 25-year-old Lowland single malt whisky.
Released last year, the 2015 Private Cellar Edition has now been made available in the US market.
The expression was distilled between December of 1989 and April of 1990 and is limited to a run of 1,500 individually numbered bottles.
It is presented in a wooden case with a miniature, so buyers can taste the whisky before opening the bottle.
Hardy USA president, Mark Levinson, said: “This is a rare opportunity to sell historical products that, once consumed, are gone forever. Our supply is limited and diminishing quickly.”
The expression is bottled at 50.4% abv, and will be made available with an RRP of US$3,199.
