William Grant appoints new UK and Ireland MD
By Annie HayesGlenfiddich Scotch whisky and Hendrick’s Gin producer William Grant & Sons has named Rita Greenwood as managing director for UK and Ireland, effective 15 February.
Rita Greenwood has been named William Grant & Sons’ new managing director for UK and IrelandGreenwood will to be taking on the responsibility from Chris Mason, who will continue to lead the William Grant & Sons in Europe as managing director developed european markets.
She has previously held a number of executive roles across the William Grant & Sons business, including managing director global travel retail, managing director developed european markets and commercial director in the UK.
Greenwood said: “I am delighted to be taking on this role in the UK, we have a strong business in the UK that has been driven by a talented and passionate team. I look forward to working with them to build on their success.”
Over the course of the coming months a process of handover and transition will take place to ensure “continuity of business” across the UK and European regions. Both Greenwood and Mason will report to chief commercial officer Simon Hunt.
Hunt said: “Rita and Chris are both incredibly experienced and effective leaders who, over the years have been instrumental in the development of our business in the UK and Europe.
“These are complex markets and the change in roles for Rita and Chris will mean a refreshed focus in all areas that will drive forward our ambitions. I wish them both well.”
