Top 10 new Irish whiskey distilleries

Burren Distillery (planned)

The_BurrenPlans were submitted to build a new distillery and visitors’ centre in The Burren, a rocky area based in County Clare, last year. An Irish planning authority approved the proposals in May despite recommendation of its own inspector who recommended a refusal.

The recommendation followed an objection by An Taisce, the National Trust for Ireland, which claimed the tourism facilities should be located in “existing settlements” since the proposed site would “harm the character” of the area. Little is currently known over the style of whiskey the distillery plans to produce, or what its capacity will be.

What about the new Teeling Distillery in Dublin

Don’t see how you can ignore the Teeling Whiskey Distillery or The Great Northern Distillery in Dundalk both of whom are in full production compared to some of the 10 who haven’t had a sod turned on their products. Very Strange

    Fair enough

What about the West Cork Distillery in Skibbereen, Cork. Great local business expanding with a fantastic Whiskey portfolio. Also, in FULL PRODUCTION. Not mentioned in either article?
