Pernod Ricard USA has taken over distribution of French aperitif brand Lillet

Effective from 1 January 2016, Lillet is owned by Pernod Ricard but has been distributed by William Grant & Sons until now.

“We are very excited to welcome this growing, profitable and delicious brand into our portfolio,” said Bryan Fry, president and CEO of Pernod Ricard USA.

“Lillet is a premium product with a long history of quality and craftsmanship, and world-renowned reputation within the bartender and mixology community as well as among loyal customers.

“We are pleased to welcome Lillet into our organisation and look forward to further unlocking its potential.”

Lillet is Bordeaux’s first and only aperitif, founded in 1872 by merchants of fine wine Raymond and Paul Lillet.

Traditionally, the brand is enjoyed with ice and a slice of orange but has also become commonly used as a cocktail ingredient in classic concoctions such as the Vesper and Corpse Reviver #2.
