Constellation makes raft of exec appointments

Svedka Vodka maker Constellation Brands is aiming to bolster long-term growth with a raft of executive appointments across its beer, wine and spirits division.

Bill Newlands has been promoted to the role of president of Constellation Brands’ wine and spirits division

The group’s chief growth officer Bill Newlands will take on the role of president of the wine and spirits division within Constellation.

He will retain responsibility for the Growth Organisation, which provides insights and innovation activities across the company, and will continue to report to Rob Sands.

Ben Dollard, who was most recently president of Constellation’s Canadian business, has been named chief growth officer and will have responsibility across both the Beer and Wine & Spirits Divisions for driving the growth agenda.

Dollard will report to Newlands and also have reporting responsibility to Paul Hetterich, the group’s newly named president of Beer.

Jay Wright, currently president of Wine and Spirits, was named president of Constellation’s Canadian Business and will continue to report to Rob Sands.

In addition to Hetterich’s appointment in Beer, the division will also see its current president Bill Hackett promoted to the new role of chairman of Beer. Bruce Jacobson has been promoted to chief commercial officer of Beer.

“These appointments illustrate the strength of leadership and the depth of talent at Constellation Brands,” said Rob Sands, president and chief executive officer of Constellation Brands.

“As we tap the next generation of Constellation leaders, we are strengthening our organisation by making changes that allow for continued growth and development of our leaders, while ensuring continuity that sustains and builds upon our dynamic growth.

“This is an exciting time for our company and our people as we build for our future.”

All appointments will take effect from 26 January 2016.

Earlier this month, New York-based Constellation Brands reported solid single-digit net sales growth for its third financial quarter, marking a “dynamic chapter” for the group.
