Herradura launches fourth small batch Tequila
By Annie HayesTequila Herradura has unveiled Directo de Alambique, the fourth release in its small batch Tequila series titled Coleccion de la Casa Reserva 2015.
Directo de Alambique is the fourth release in the Coleccion de la Casa Reserva 2015 seriesCreated by master distiller Maria Teresa Lara – one of the only female master distillers in the Tequila industry – Directo de Alambique is made from 100% blue agave, fermented with natural yeast, and then bottled straight from the still at 55% abv.
On the nose it offers “sweet agave, green pepper, and spice notes with a touch of crisp citrus”, with a “masterful balance of black pepper and rich earthy flavours” on the palate.
“We are delighted to introduce Coleccion de la Casa, Reserva 2015 – Directo de Alambique to our Tequila enthusiasts in the United States just in time for the holidays,” said Liz Edwards, senior brand manager for Tequila Herradura.
“The fourth edition in Tequila Herradura’s small-batch series is an ideal expression for discerning Tequila drinkers looking to enjoy the crisp, vibrant flavor of Herradura.”
The collection is designed to exhibit how four of the primary sources of Tequila’s flavour – agave, water, fermentation, and distillation – can impact the character of the final product and create new flavour profiles.
Coleccion de la Casa, Reserva 2015 – Directo de Alambique will be available in California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, New York and Texas for a limited time in December at the RRP of US$89.99.
It will then be made available nationwide from January 2016.
