Brown-Forman puts $10k towards ‘safe rides’ home

Brown-Forman is to donate US$10,000 towards “safe rides” over the festive season, encouraging revellers to plan ahead and keep potential drunk drivers off the roads.

The Jack Daniel’s Tennessee and Tequila Herradura maker has partnered with designated companies CityScoot, Taxi 7, Yellow Cab, and Uber to provide US$15 discounts to legal drinking age consumers in Kentucky as part of the annual ‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over’ campaign.

This is the fourth year that Brown-Forman has supported the campaign – which runs from December 17 to January – and this year is the first that four different companies have partaken.

“Brown-Forman is proud to partner with the ‘Drive Sober’ campaign to encourage planning ahead, using a designated driver and not driving drunk,” says Taylor Amerman, North America region responsibility manager at Brown-Forman.

“As a company committed to responsibility, we’re excited to work with our safe ride partners and help our neighbours in Louisville make their holiday season a safe one.”

Consumers can go to the website www.saferideky.com and use the code ‘SAFERIDEKY’ to qualify for the discount.
