Saint James Rum sees volumes soar 14%

Since the beginning of 2015, Caribbean pure cane rum producer Saint James Rum has increased worldwide volume sales by 14%.

Saint James is marking its 250th anniversary with a special bottling

The La Martiniquaise-owned brand is celebrating is 250th anniversary this year The milestone has “favoured a growth in sales”, says the brand, which has hosted celebratory events around the world.

On-island celebrations included the unveiling of a commemorative metal sculpture, and the auction of special Saint James vintages. One “extremely rare” 1885 millésime bottle sold for €16,000.

Globally, a series of special events and tastings are being held to mark the anniversary. According to the brand, the occasion has resulted in a “sales and notoriety increase”.

Saint James’ Rhum Agricole is still produced on Martinique, its native Caribbean island.

It’s official 250th anniversary bottling was unveiled in July.
