Ballantine’s unveils Artist Series whisky bottles

Ballantine’s is set to launch a new Artist Series of limited edition bottle designs, the first three of which have been created in collaboration with album cover artist Leif Podhajsky.

The Chivas Brothers-owned brand will collaborate with a different artist or designer once a year as part of the series.

Australian artist and graphic designer Podhajsky is known for his sonically-inspired work that has featured on the album covers of acts such as Gypsy & The Cat and Evy Jane.

He has created three designs for Ballantine’s new gift packs that are said to be inspired by Scotch whisky and Scotland’s natural landscape.

The Ballantine’s Finest Tin is inspired by the movement and colour of Scotch whisky, while The Ballantine’s Neoprene Finest Sleeve takes inspiration from fire and water. The final design featured on Ballantine’s 12 Year Old Tin is an “abstract interpretation” of the Scottish landscape.

“Providing excellent on-shelf standout thanks to his eye-catching designs, the limited editions present a modern take on our celebrated Ballantine’s whisky, so we are certain they will be a must have for whisky and art connoisseurs alike,” said Peter Moore, global brand director of Ballantine’s.

The Ballantine’s Artist Series Limited Edition Gift Packs will be available globally from the end of October at the same price as Ballantine’s Finest and Ballantine’s 12 Year Old.

Earlier this year, the brand partnered with renowned “GIF-iti” artist INSA to launch a 12-strong range of hand painted limited edition bottles.
