TFWA WE to hold first research workshop
TFWA will host a dedicated research workshop at its TFWA World Exhibition & Conference, held in Cannes in October, for the first time.

The one-hour TFWA Research Workshop will take place at the Palais des Festivals from 18.00 on Wednesday 21 October.
Peter Mohn, owner and CEO, m1nd-set, and Alison Hughes, research director, Counter Intelligence Retail, will present highlights of the association’s recently commissioned studies. The workshop will be moderated by TFWA conference, research and corporate affairs director John Rimmer.
All registered show delegates are welcome to attend the session.
Over the past year, the association has commissioned two series of reports: the TFWA Airport Series, conducted by m1nd-set, and the current series of TFWA category reports focusing on individual product categories, in partnership with Counter Intelligence Retail. TFWA makes the results of its research freely available to members.

TFWA has bolstered its World Exhibition conference content over recent years, introducing early morning workshop sessions.
This year a Market Watch Workshop will take place on Tuesday 20 October (Majestic Hotel, 08.00-09.00) with a focus on South Korea. Speakers include Mikyong Kwon, SK Walkerhill senior vice president & head of duty free division; and Yang Soung-hoon, professor of the division of international tourism at Silla University in Busan.
An Inflight Focus Workshop will he held on Wednesday 21 October (Majestic, 08.00-09.00) featuring presentations and debate led by John Linssen, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines category manager inflight retail; Karen Durban, Inflight Sales Group director Europe & Africa; and Garry Stasiulevicuis, Counter Intelligence Retail MD.

The main TFWA Conference session takes place on Monday 19 October, with keynote speakers Rudy Giuliani, former New York mayor, and Peter Long, Joint CEO of TUI Group, heading the bill.
TFWA president Erik Juul-Mortensen will open the conference with his annual state of the industry address.
The TFWA World Exhibition & Conference takes place at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, Cannes, from 18-23 October.
