London startup rolls out cocktail sorbets
Startup business Lushice Sorbet has launched a range of cocktail sorbets made from fruit purée and “a dash of premium liquor”.
The sorbets are marketed as a “dessert range for grown-ups”
Marketed as a “dessert range for grown-ups”, the Lushice Sorbet range boasts four flavour variants inspired by well-known cocktails: Mojito, Piña Colada, Strawberry Daiquiri and Margarita.
The Mojito, Piña Colada and Daiquiri offerings contain Caribbean white rum, while the lime-flavoured Margarita is finished with Tequila.
Brand founder, Laura Lewis, has secured suppliers Partridges, Ocado and Bayley & Sage, in addition to a number of independent delis across the South East. She is also readying a national roll out through a number of retailers.
Each pot is dairy-free, and contains 2% alcohol.
Lewis said: “I love to experiment with all sorts of delicious fruits for dessert, especially sorbets. Adding a splash of booze to the mix was a last minute addition, but I loved the idea of making it a naughty dessert for my friends. After a little recipe refinement, I discovered a little alcohol gave the sorbet a smoother consistency.”
A 500g sharing tub has an RRP of £4.99, while each 100g snack pot retails at £1.99.
Earlier this year, a London cafe launched an ice cream “bar” offering Prosecco, Negroni and Aperol Spritz-flavoured gelato.
