Bartender launches ‘unique’ grappa brand
By Amy HopkinsA London bartender has brought his own brand of grappa to the UK, aiming to “change consumers’ approach” to the category.
The first batch of Domus Grappa has launched in the UKMassimiliano Favaretto, bartender and manager of Pacifico Group, has unveiled the first 500 bottles of the first batch of his Domas Grappa, a traditionally made grappa from the North-West of Italy.
The brand, created in collaboration with master distiller Roberto Dellavalle, is now available at a number of London bars and restaurants, including El Nivel, La Perla, Cafe Pacifico and Balthazar London
Domus Grappa will soon be available in the off-trade at an RRP of £25.
Made from single varietal grapes distilled by local Italian distilleries, the grappa is said to be a “true and faithful representation of a certain Italian area, its traditions, grape and terroir”.
The first batch of Domus Grappa launched in the UK is made from 100% “unique” Ruché red grape grown around Castagnole Monferrato, Piedmont.
“Domus was crated with the strong intention of taking grappa to a different level, the cocktail level,” said Favaretto. “So Domus was conceived with the cocktail world in mind as well as the classic sipping drink.”
