Sidney Frank quashes CEO exit ‘rumours’

Sidney Frank Importing Company has rejected “rumours” that its long standing CEO Lee Einsidler is leaving the firm to lead a new importing business for Casamigos Tequila.

Sidney Frank’s CEO Lee Einsidler will not be leaving the company to lead a new distribution business for Casamigos Tequila, the company claims

A report was published yesterday stating that Einsidler planned to step down from his role in order to head up the new Casamigos Importing, described as an exclusive importing and marketing firm for Casamigos Tequila, co-owned by actor George Clooney.

In March last year, Sidney Frank won the exclusive right to import and distribute Casamigos Tequila in the US and Caribbean.

Einsidler first joined Sidney Frank in 1991 and rose through the ranks to the position of CEO in 2005, overseeing the sale of Grey Goose to Bacardi as vice president of sales and marketing in 2004.

Sidney Frank has stressed that the report stating Einsidler is leaving the group was based on “rumour and innuendo”, adding that it is “untrue and inaccurate”.

Last month, it was announced that the company had been acquired by German herbal liqueur brand Jägermeister after acting as the brand’s US distributor for more than 30 years.

Just a few days later, Sidney Frank withdrew its lawsuit against Beam Suntory relating to a supply contract for Michael Collins Irish whiskey.
