Edgerton launches ‘world’s first’ blue spice gin
By Melita KielyPink gin brand Edgerton has expanded its portfolio with the launch of the “world’s first” blue spiced expression – Edgerton Blue Spice Gin.
Edgerton Blue Spiced Gin joins the brand’s existing portfolioUnveiled this week, the new expression is said to be “more earthy” than the original pink expression with prominent flavours of coriander and a hints of fennel on the palate.
“Going from the feminine pink gin we launched, we needed to open our market up with a more masculine offering,” said Richard Phillips, company secretary of Edgerton Pink Gin. “Why did we choose blue? Well, because pink goes well with blue.
“The pink marketed itself very well to girls and the gay market, and the response we had was fantastic, and I am expecting the blue to do the same.
“It’s always important when you’re developing a brand to stick to the brand, and I think that is exactly what we have done here.”
Bottled at 43% abv, Edgerton Blue Spiced Gin will be available in select UK retailers this month at an RRP of £25 per 700ml bottle.
In addition, the brand is also set to launch Edgerton Crystal Classic in Fortnum and Mason in three weeks time – a white variant that is described as “smooth with a hint of cucumber”.
Edgerton Crystal Classic is triple distilled and triple filtered before being bottled at 43% abv. It will also have an RRP of £25 per 700ml bottle.
