Smartphone app for settling bar bill hits UK
The Velocity app, which allows customers to pay their bill at bars and restaurants via their smartphone, has rolled out across the UK.
Each customer must rate their visit in stars – providing venues with real-time feedback
As well as paying for drinks and food directly from their phone, users can also book tables and earn and redeem rewards through loyalty schemes on the app.
In addition, the app automatically suggests restaurants and clubs based on recommendations from friends in the user’s social networks.
In return, each customer must rate their visit in stars – providing venues with real-time feedback.
A statement on the Velocity website said: “Velocity is increasing revenues for its restaurant partners by 11%.
“It makes dining out more personal and efficient for both the customer and restaurant, by eliminating time spent waiting for the bill, making staff more productive, increasing footfall and providing venues with rich insights into customer preferences.
“Thanks to integration with existing PoS systems, Velocity is free to install.”
Velocity first partnered with select London venues, and has now rolled out across the UK, with plans to expand to establishments overseas in New York.
