Roust takes over Bushmills distribution in Russia

Russian Standard vodka owner Roust Inc. has replaced Diageo as distributor of Jose Cuervo’s Bushmills Irish Whiskey in Russia.

Roust has taken over distribution and marketing of Bushmills Irish Whiskey in Russia

Spirits producer and distributor Roust will also be responsible for the marketing of the Irish whiskey brand in Russia.

According to Roust, sales volumes of Bushmills in Russia currently exceed 74,000 nine-litre cases making it the third biggest market after the US and Ireland.

Oleg Kirillin, director general of Roust’s distribution company Roust Inc. commented: “Russia is a growing market for whiskey and we are thrilled to distribute such a legendary Irish whiskey as Bushmills.”

Jose Cuervo International acquired Bushmills Irish Whiskey from Diageo in November 2014 in return for complete ownership of Don Julio Teqiula.

“This is a very exciting time for Bushmills,” said Yiannis Stratos, regional director for Jose Cuervo International. “We’re delighted to have Roust on board to help us grow the Bushmills brand in our market.

“The arrangement will help us bring this famous whiskey, crafted for centuries on Ireland’s north coast, to a wider range of consumers.”
