Casa Dragones Tequila creates Exorcist bottles
By Annie HayesTequila brand Casa Dragones has been commissioned by internationally acclaimed artist Danh Vo to release two “macabre” bottles for inclusion in his upcoming exhibitions.
The bottles are etched with quotes from 1973 horror film The Exorcist
Two special edition Casa Dragones Joven bottles will debut in two seperate installations at the 2015 Venice Biennale art exhibition.
The bottles are etched with quotes from 1973 horror film The Exorcist, including “Lick Me, Lick Me”, executed by his father Phung Vo.
In the second of the two exhibitions, Vo has deliberately placed a bottle of Casa Dragones Joven Sipping Tequila on a 1949 Danish wooden table inlaid with 30 silver coins.
Described as “one of the most important and innovative figures on the international art scene” by the Danish Arts Foundation’s Committee for Visual Arts Project Funding, Vo’s work often focuses on the clashing of cultures – in this instance using quotes from a classic US film to inscribe the Mexican spirit bottle.
The bottles – of which there are only 666 available – can be bought exclusively at the participating galleries in Venice, or by emailing the brand.
