Produced by The Brighton Spirits Company, Brighton Gin is now available from retailers such as Harvey Nichols, Hartley’s Wines, and various other stockists both online and in-store.
Formed in 2013, the Brighton Spirits Company was founded by wine and spirits PR, Helen Chesshire, radio producer and former publican and restaurateur, Kathy Caton, founder of the W J King Brewery and chairman of the Small Batch Coffee Company, Nigel Lambe, drinks editor of The Spectator and wine editor of The Field and Boat International, Johnny Ray, and physicist, Dr Ian Barry.
The gin’s botanicals include angelica, lime and milk thistle, which is well-known for cleansing the liver.
The Brighton Spirits Company suggest serving it with “a slice of orange, to bring the fresh orange peel botanical to the fore”.
It is described as “gentle and approachable”, with “sweet-scented fresh citrus and a touch of spice”.
