Breathalyser data reveals ‘drunkest’ US states
Personal breathalyser company BACtrack has released data collected from its users which reveals West Virginia and Nevada are the “drunkest” states.
The highest Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) levels were recorded in West Virginia
The highest Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) levels were recorded in West Virginia, which averaged at 0.103%, Nevada at 0.095%, Pennsylvania at 0.088% and Connecticut at 0.088%.
The lowest average BAC level belonged to Kentucky, at 0.039%, followed by Delaware at 0.042%.
Data for the BACtrack Consumption Report was collected from users of the BACtrack app, which syncs with users’ BACtrack smartphone breathalysers.
The report also revealed that although summer drinking peaks during the week leading up to July 4th, the month of June has the highest average BAC.
The lowest average BAC was the last week of July at 0.058%
Last year a report revealed that alcohol consumption and binge drinking among young adolescents aged between 12 and 17 is declining in the US.
