Kentucky’s Bardstown Bourbon Company has partnered with Mahalo Spirits Group to launch a number of new whiskey brands that will be produced at its new US$25 million distillery.

It was revealed in June last year that Bardstown Bourbon Company intended to build a new 37,000-square-foot distillery in Bardstown, Nelson County, which will open in 2016.

Run by former Maker’s Mark master distiller Steve Nally, the distillery will produce Bourbon and other spirits and will also feature a visitors’ centre, hotel and restaurant.

It has now partnered with Florida-based Mahalo Spirits Group, the branding, sales and marketing firm behind Angel’s Envy Bourbon and Papa’s Pilar Rum, to develop and launch new whiskey brands.

“We are changing the model for how innovative whiskey and Bourbon products will be produced and brought to market,“ echoed David Mandell, president and CEO of The Bardstown Bourbon Company.

“And, we’re building an experience in Bardstown unlike anything whiskey enthusiasts have ever experienced.”

The Bardstown Bourbon Company and Mahalo Spirits Group will announce details of their first brand later this year.

Once operational, The Bardstown Bourbon Company will mark the fifth distillery in Nelson County.
