DrinkAdvisor adds marketing tool for bar owners
By Annie HayesBar-finding app DrinkAdvisor has launched a new marketing tool for venues to make them “more visible on the party radar of smartphone owners”.
The app’s latest feature Barkeeper allows owners and managers of bars to promote cocktails, drinks deals and events through a digital venue pageThe app, which is designed as a bar and drinks guide “for frequent travellers and locals” was launched last year, and features bars and venues in the UK and overseas, with ratings and reviews posted by users.
The app’s latest feature, called Barkeeper, allows the registered owners and managers of bars to promote cocktails, drinks deals and events through a digital venue page.
Owners now have the ability to advertise their bar’s signature cocktail, manage the information shown on the venue’s page – including pictures, unique selling points, location and opening hours – and promote offers and upcoming events, which can be sent to subscribers through a push notification.
In addition bar owners are able to track their venue’s popularity, so each time someone clicks the “Like” button, it rises higher in the city’s listing.
A spokesperson from Drink Advisor said: “According to recent studies, mobile devices are becoming globally omnipresent, with 1 in 5 people now owning a smartphone. In a situation where customers are used to searching for new spots and sharing their experiences, emotions and advice with friends via digital platforms, mobile apps are requisite tools for pro-active customers.
“DrinkAdvisor was designed as a unique marketing tool for bar owners, making their venues more visible on the party radars of smartphone users and giving them control over their venue’s public pages.”
“Besides publishing comments, guests can also download photos of their favourite cocktails, this tool helps to find out customers’ preferences and see what people really appreciate in order to promote it via the DrinkAdvisor platform.
“All this shows how DrinkAdvisor users can give bar owners a really good insight.”
