Google adds cocktail recipes to search results

Cocktail recipes are now being offered on Google Search pages, eliminating the need for users to sift through results pages to find instructions.

Google Search now provides cocktail recipes with step-by-step instructions

Google took to Twitter last week to announce its latest development with the statement: “Because it’s always 5 o’clock somewhere: Cocktail recipes now served on Google Search.”

Users can now search for cocktails either via an Internet browser or through the Google app on Android and iOS devices, which will be displayed at the top of the web page.

The results will provide the ingredients needs to create the desired drinks – including classics such as Martinis, Margaritas and Whisky Sours – as well as the ideal glassware that should be used and traditional garnishing.

According to Google, the data was collated from various sources, including Wikipedia, for accurate recipes that will deliver the best-tasting drinks for users.

There are currently 189 cocktail recipes available on Google Search.

This is the most recent development in the firm’s Knowledge Graph, which Google launched in May 2012, and is designed to increase accessibility of the search results for certain enquiries such a common illnesses and song lyrics.
