By Amy HopkinsSingle estate Cognac producer Domaines Francis Abecassis has moved into the liqueurs category with the launch of a Cognac-based “single origin” honey variant.
ABK6 Honey is a Cognac-based liqueur made with “single origin” honeyABK6 Honey is a combination of single vineyard Cognac created by Domaines Francis Abecassis and “single origin” honey from within a specific area of Cognac’s Charente woods.
Of his single vineyard production, Francis Abecassis said: “I am convinced that blending eaux de vie coming from a single estate gives the Cognac inimitable character and depth.”
To create ABK6 Honey, cellar master Christian Guérin blended Cognac from the estate with honey during the spirit’s ageing process, giving the resulting liquid an “intense and aromatic” flavour.
ABK6 Honey, bottled at 35% abv, is also described as having notes of jasmine, violet, honeysuckle and rose petals, in addition to vanilla and toffee.
Priced €29.5, the expression will be available in France within the next few days, with plans to extend distribution to the US and other markets in the near future.
