Tequila-vodka hybrid outsells Amazon competition
A Tequila-vodka hybrid became the biggest-selling “vodka” on Amazon during January, just months into its launch in the UK.
Vodquila, a blend of vodka and Tequila, was the biggest-selling “vodka” on Amazon during January
Vodquila, a blend of grain vodka and 100% agave Tequila, launched in the UK in November through a 12-month exclusive retail partnership with Amazon.
Following its success online, UK distributor Speciality Spirits intends to focus on rolling out the product to the British on-trade.
The product, created by Alabama-based drinks group Red Eye Louie’s, is a blend of grain vodka distilled six times, with 100% agave Tequila from the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico.
The result is a smooth, clear spirit with forward notes of agave, spice and menthol.
Vodquila was the brainchild of Chander Arora and his daughter Nina, who developed the hybrid spirit following what started as a school project.
Romie Arora, co-founder of Vodquila, said: ”Red Eye Louie’s Vodquila give you the best of both worlds.”
Vodquila is best served neat or over a block of ice with a squeeze of fresh lime, or as an alternative to vodka or Tequila in a number of classic cocktails.
