Bacardi North America CMO steps down
By Becky PaskinBacardi’s chief marketing officer of the rum company’s US operations has stepped down from the role after five years.
Juan Rovira has left his position as CMO of Bacardi North AmericaJuan Rovira was appointed CMO for the US in 2010, taking on the rest of North America last year.
However Rovira has now decided to step down from the role, just days after it was announced Dmitry “Dima” Ivanov will be replacing Andy Gibson as CMO for the UK.
The announcement also comes months following the resignation of Bacardi North America’s president Robert Furniss-Roe, who left to “pursue other opportunities”. Furniss-Roe was replaced by Pete Carr, a former executive with Glazer’s and Diageo North America.
While a spokesperson for Bacardi did not comment on Rovira’s next move, she said: “The timing and possibility of alternative roles is still under review.”
Prior to his role as CMO, Rovira held numerous regional and global positions within Bacardi including global category manager for Martini, and marketing director for Spain.
