Grand Spirits Masters named at SB Awards Lunch

Excellence in the spirits industry was recognised at the annual Spirits Masters Awards Lunch yesterday, where a number of brands and companies were named Grand Spirits Master.

Leaders in the spirits industry assembled yesterday to celebrate the medalists in The Spirits Masters series

Taking place at the beautiful Roof Gardens in London’s Kensington, The Spirits Business paid plaudits to medalists of The Spirits Masters 2014 – a blind tasting competition judged by an independent panel of expert judges throughout the year.

In addition to these winners, Grand Spirits Masters across Scotch, Tequila, gin, vodka and many more were named. These are the brands and groups that have accumulated the most points throughout each individual competition.

The overall Grand Spirits Master which performed outstandingly across one or more categories was named as Swedish vodka brand, Purity Vodka.

Consistency in Excellence awards also given to those companies which the judges felt consistently scored high marks throughout The Spirits Masters series.

Meanwhile, innovation was recognised in the inaugural Spiritual Award, which was launched in collaboration with Vinexpo.

Scotch whisky brand anCnoc was given the accolade for its Peat Cutter range. The judges were impressed with the brand’s ability to innovate in a highly regulated category, exploring a traditional aspect of whisky production, to a degree that many have overlooked in the past.
