Diageo releases pie-flavoured whisky liqueurs
Diageo has combined the flavours of Canadian whisky with freshly baked pies to create a new pie liqueur flavoured whisky range.
Piehole comprises three flavours including Cherry Pie, Pecan Pie and Apple Pie
The Piehole range, which is recommended to be consumed as a shot, comprises three flavours of Apple Pie, Cherry Pie and Pecan Pie.
Each expression has been aged between four to eight years and bottled in Canada.
“Many people remember that feeling you get when you first taste Grandma’s pies fresh from the oven,” commented Kristin Markovich, senior innovation manager, whiskey.
“Piehole is our way of bringing that delicious memory to consumers for any fun occasion and we hope people everywhere will open their pie holes to try these three mouth-watering flavours.”
Piehole Apple Pie Canadian whisky is described as offering flavours of sweet apple pie filling, baked crust with a hint of cinnamon and clove spice, while Piehole Pecan Pie is said to taste of toasted pecans with Bourbon vanilla extract, dark brown sugar and baked pie crust.
Piehole Cherry Pie has flavours of sweet baked cherries, buttery pastry and baked pie crust.
With an abv of 35%, Piehole liqueur flavoured whiskeys are available from November at an RRP of CA$14.99 per 750ml bottle.
