Diageo has answered calls from campaigners to reinstate Pimm’s No.6 Vodka Cup, which will make a comeback in summer 2015.

After Pimm’s No.6 Vodka Cup was delisted, disappointed fans contacted Diageo calling for the drink to be made available again inundating the Pimm’s team with messages via emails, social media and written letters.

Joanna Segesser, senior brand manager at Pimm’s, said: “We take consumer feedback to heart, and we have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support for Pimm’s No. 6 Vodka Cup. Pimm’s is an iconic British brand and we are delighted to be able to listen to the British public’s request to re-launch Pimm’s Vodka Cup.”

First launched in 1964, Pimm’s No.6 was originally known as a Vodka Sling, but was soon dubbed the Vodka Cup.

Ian Faul, secretary of the City of London Club, whose members were part of the campaign, said he was “absolutely delighted” by the news.

“In this ever changing world, it’s reassuring to know that some institutions and traditions will be maintained and Vodka Pimm’s is a perfect example of a tradition that should never end. Roll on summer 2015.”

Pimm’s No.6 Vodka Cup will be available to purchase national as of next year from selected retailers and possibly an online platform as well.
