Micro-distillery to launch cinnamon whisky
By Melita KielyA micro-distillery is readying to release a new cinnamon-flavoured whiskey later this month.
Porter’s Fire cinnamon whiskey will be rolled out to liquor stores in Utah later this month
Porter’s Fire, created by Odgen’s Own Distillery in Utah, is already available from the distillery and will be launched in liquor stores throughout the state from 23 October.
Named after the hit man and bodyguard to the leaders of the Mormon Church, Porter Rockwell, the whiskey liqueur is described as offering flavours of smooth Canadian whiskey, natural cinnamon plus a hint of vanilla.
“There’s a lot going on in the market with the cinnamon whiskey flavour profile,” explained Steve Conlin, managing partner of Odgen’s Own Distillery.
“We have a reputation for cutting back from the sugar levels in some of the more popular products and letting the actual flavours come through.
“Porter’s Fire continues this tradition and we think people will really enjoy the complexity rather than the candy taste they get elsewhere.”
