Hennessy partners with designer for new bottle
By Amy HopkinsHennessy Cognac has teamed up with British art director and designer Peter Saville to launch a new limited edition bottle as part of its VSOP Privilege Collector’s series in the US.
The new Hennessy VSOP Privilege Collector’s Edition bottle will be available in the US from 24 November
Saville, who designed album sleeves for 80’s rock bands Joy Division and New Order, took inspiration from the “origin and composition” of the Cognac itself for the new design.
He recast the carafe in a matt-gold featuring progressive colour gradation on the label, said to represent the Cognac’s origin’s in “earthly tones” as well as the cosmopolitan areas in which the Cognac is showcased through neon pink and electric blue colours.
“Peter Saville’s creation is an innovative and beautiful nod to the storied history of the Hennessy V.S.O.P Privilege blend,” said Rodney Williams, senior vice president of Hennessy USA.
“The blend was originally created for King George IV. What’s striking is how Peter has taken this historical blend – the world’s first VSOP – and masterfully created a contemporary design that still symbolizes its elevated pedigree.”
The new Hennessy VSOP Privilege Collector’s Edition bottle will be available for sale at select US retailers from 24 November.
