Canadian Club unveils 100% rye whisky

Canadian Club has launched a 100% rye editionDescribed as “robust and smooth”, Canadian Club Chairman’s Select 100% Rye is the first 100% rye whisky launched by one of the top three selling whisky brands in Canada.
The expression – which joins Canadian Club’s other rye whiskies, including Canadian Club Premium and Canadian Club Classic 12 Year Old – has been aged in Bourbon casks.
“Canadian whisky is poised to grow in the next few years, as discerning young whisky enthusiasts look for new brown spirits to enjoy,” said Rob Tucker, senior brand manager for Canadian, American and Irish Whiskies at Beam Suntory.
“They are seeking authentic, high quality brands, such as Canadian Club, made with craftsmanship and care. The brand is meeting this changing taste preference with Canadian Club 100% Rye – it’s more robust with a satisfying spiciness that is true to the rye grain.”
Canadian Club 100% Rye is distilled by Calgary-based Alberta Distillers Ltd, and then cut to bottling strength and bottled in Walkerville, Ontario.
Jack Daniel’s recently revealed that it expects to release it long-awaited rye whiskey next summer, though it will only be available in limited quantities.
