Texas-based drinks group Epic Spirits has donated a portion of its profits for new Equality to a charity supporting LGBT rights.
“Equality Vodka is committed to providing funds to organisations that help in moving the equality needle forward,” said Bert Gallagher, Jr., president of Epic Spirits. “For the first 24 months, we have selected Lambda Legal Services as our charitable recipient.”
Gallagher added that Equality vodka will be targeted towards the LGBT communities, as well as the wider Millennial consumer-base.
Equality Vodka, bottled at 40% abv and priced at US$29.99, will first launch in Texas with a view of extending distribution in the future.
Its launch follows that of Chicago-based Halsted Vodka, another vodka created to champion LGBT rights by donating 15% of its operating profits to advancing human rights.
