Diageo reveals new travel retail executives

Diageo has revealed further changes to its leadership team with two new appointments to the global travel retail arm.

Peter Fairbrother has been appointed global marketing director for Diageo Global Travel and Middle East (GTME)

Peter Fairbrother has been appointed global marketing director for Diageo Global Travel and Middle East (GTME) with responsibility to spearhead all brand and marketing activities in travel retail globally.

With 20 years experience at Diageo, he previously held the position of white spirits director and was responsible for Diageo’s global Reserve vodka and gin portfolios.

Craig Norwell has been appointed strategy and global customer director for Diageo GTME with responsibility to leverage growth opportunities in the industry.

Having joined Diageo four years ago, he most recently held the role of route to consumer director for Diageo Asia Pacific.

The appointments were announced by Doug Bagley, managing director of Diageo GTME. Both Fairbrother and Norwell will be based at the GTME leadership office in Singapore.

“Travel Retail is a vitally important channel for Diageo – it is where we build our luxury brands and set the benchmark for retail excellence,” said Bagley.

“As a leader in the Wine & Spirits category, GTME has a clear, strategic focus on innovation, luxury and premiumisation of the shopping experience which we will build through strategic partnerships with our customers.

“I am delighted to have Peter and Craig on board to drive these plans forward.”
